Uhh, Afghanistan and Pakistan, where al-Qaeda has always operated from? They didn't operate in Iraq at the time, and "al-Qaeda in Iraq" came as a result of us invading. If our ultimate goal was to destroy al-Qaeda, we should have just stayed in Afghanistan. Instead we're occupying Iraq and seemingly preparing to attack Iran, both of which have nothing to do with fighting terrorism in America.

Osama is a Sunni muslim.  Iran is a nation of Shia muslims, a minority sect in the muslim world and very much despised by Sunni muslims.  The sectarian violence in Iraq between Sunni and Shia (although it has devolved into Shia on Shia violence lately).  How does the saying go: the enemy of my enemy is my friend?  So bombing Iran would make us Osama's friend, right?

We made an opportunity for them to train up and possibly take control of areas in Iraq that weren't there before. Of course partisan groups sprang up across the area, people tend to get pissed when you bomb them and occupy their land. Sure Saddam was a bad guy, but Saudi Arabia is more of a terrorist stronghold than Iraq ever was. Jihadists were more likely to attack them, seeing as it was a somewhat secular government, than set up training camps there.

my stand on the current elections will stay with mccain bein the heavy republican i am. but he WILL winn if he was smart to grab Romney as Vice pres. he was the main choice, i wish he couldve stayed in.

Romney's a joke I'm glad McCain won over all the rest of the Republican field this year. I wish Ron Paul would have won, I probably would have voted for him. That would have at least been interesting, and not in a bombing Iran sort of way. I would like to see state's rights take more power again, at least towards social aspects.
