WTF is going on with these young kids nowadays !!! There is an 8yr old in my state that is being held for MURDER after shooting his father and his fathers roommate 4 times in the head each !! I don't have any guns in the house.. but if I did... Bet dam sure they would be locked with a trigger lock and in a gun safe at ALL times !!

I dunno db but in my opinion I blame the parents. Parents nowadays seem to have less control over their kids. Growing up my dad had a .22 downstairs and I wouldn't go down there knowing it was there, so then he put it out into the garage. My ex husband brought his gun into my house, and I then booted his ass back outside and said there is no way in hell i'm allowing a gun in my house with 2 young children. I have taught my kids better then that, or so I hope, but I don't put things around them that could potentially hurt them or myself.

I was thinking the exact same thing Doc...and i grew up with guns in my house and i plan on being a gun owner the rest of my life, however my father also taught me proper gun safety and taught me early on that there would be a serious ass whooping if i ever fucked with the gun cabinet...IMO it all comes down to parenting |

I have to agree with this. A teenager fooling around with a shotgun and having it accidentally go off is much more likely than the 4 year old doing it. |
