kerplunk I always advise people that mention Michael moores movies that you take them with a big grain of salt.  That guy is so familiar with cut-and-paste stories that he can make any movie-watcher dance to his tune.  Informative as they may be, its not always the truth that guy is putting through that camera. 


Now, Does anybody else agree that if this were to happen that our country will never recover??  The chance of ever fully recovering from this stimulus package is a long shot as it is, but this healthcare reform will fuck us for good.  The guy wants to give healthcare to everybody, illegals included.  I think that is something that drives people for the jobs they have is the benefits, having yu company cover your ass if it gets hurt.  I cant help but feel very alarmed that bitch-ass nancy pelosi is trying to crank this out so fast.  Its like they know whats going to happen and are trying to expedite it.  Moon colony is almost finished guys, just hang in there!!

Thats how our politics work though;  the status quo will move to kill any change you try to make, so the only way to combat it is to force things through quickly when you do manage to get the majority.  Granted, the current bill will never pass as its currently drafted.  Too many Blue-Dog/moderate Dems can't/won't support it.  Pelosi (as much as I hate her) is trying to do what every Majority leader does, and thats beat the clock.  But you can't deny that the current system we have in place is FUBAR'ed.  The sad thing is that when this and his Cap/Trade bills fail, Obama is gonna lose a lot of political capital and the Repubs are gonna go to town on him about how he can't acheive anything. 

And re: the stimulus, if the economy (as house sales, DJIA/SP500, unemployment rates, and other leading indicators are tentatively showing) starts to make an upturn by the end of 2009, Obama is gonna get some/most/all the credit for the recovery.  Just like Clinton did.  Deserving or not. 

I'm more perplexed that we haven't made more scaling back/withdrawl of troops overseas.  Military spending is what 50-75% of our total budget?  If we wanna know how to pay for healthcare/education/Bronze Statues of Obama, then look no further than a reduction in the military.  But thats just a pipedream.  At least not till Osama is found and Kim Jong is made into a human Marionette for Team America 2.

What's so wrong with giving health care to everybody? You realize that people without insurance (illegals included) are already using the emergency room for all of their health care needs as it is and raising our healthcare costs no matter what right?  Also, the public/government healthcare part of the reform is dead in Congress, all we're gonna get is maybe some little changes but it's still going to be overpriced private care. Republicans killed it as a political maneuver and Democrats (and Republicans) killed it because they're all taking millions from the insurance industry. I've never heard anyone in a country that has public healthcare say they wish they had our system.
