some how i doubt bill clinton did anything but shake hands and give smiles. kim jong let those woman go because he was testing our response. just wait more shit is gonna start happening now because he knows we wont ever act militarily against him. as i recall all these woman did was be journalists, the nKoreans said they were spies and arrested them.
I believe They were working across the border and crossed a river they werent supposed to that led them into North Korea.
But I agree this was a test, however I'm still surprised that they let them go. I'm willing to bet if ol' Kim Jong has his way, we'll be in real conflict with them sooner or later, just after they have amassed enough weapons to put a hurting on our armed forces.
Forgive how heartless this sounds but if we fight a war with north korea, we just need to sit off the coast and shell the place back to the stone age. Make that country a flat barren wasteland, preferably non-irradiated... I get the feeling that there would not be a lot of national support for another ground war with the Iraq conflict still occurring (or still in recent memory depending on when the shit hits the fan...). Then again, war has saved our national economy in the past, problem is that was a world war, and unless things REALLY go wrong, I dont see a WW III scale conflict happening.

That might work now, but they are testing missles every month it feels like these days, they'll be plenty capable defending such a strike real soon.
War has saved the economy when it created jobs, yet here we have been in a war for what 8 years now, and we have seen nothing like the economic turnover in WW2.

NK is all about bluster and saber rattling. As one of the few ultra nationalist non-globalist countries left they feel like they need to be really aggressive.....kinda like a 13 year old in a suburban family. And make no mistake about it that our and the UN's policies and sanctions are responsible for a lot of the acting out.

There is actually quite a few Economists saying the US may switch over to a more "war time" economy as the military-industrial economy is still doing very well compared to the civilian economy.

While I'm glad they're safe, I wouldn't really have cared if they hadn't come home...They snuck into the country..."Journalist" is sure a catch-all title. They knew what they were doing...So fuck 'em.
EVERYONE in South Korea knows you don't try and go into North Korea. How much of our tax money went to bring these dipshits home? And what kind of backroom concessions/money did we have to give to get 'em out??? They're being hailed as heroes for being fuck-ups.

I've learned so much more from that movie than from all my years in elementary school combined.

(your name here), what you just said is one of the most insanely, idiotic things I have ever heard. No where in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

They broke the law - they should pay.
I'm sad Clinton bailed them out.
Now every American will think they will get bailed out if they do stupid stuff in another country.
Remember the kid who got cained for breaking a law in another country??

LOL I remember that: some jackass from Beaverton(?) or Oregon somewheres. As I recall he spit in a urnial or spit his gum on the ground or something like that... I think it was Singapore.
