Explanation: I was in a good mood so i was joking around (I see where the issue lies) and said "whats up 'negrosis' " to Killa when he joined the game. Otigre said something about it and I said I wasn't trying to be racist and then nothing was said after that. That happened at the begging of the round; nothing else was said and we were all talking like normal. A round or two later - forget which map *the one with the launch pads at both spawns* - I'm in a knife fight with someone (I dont think they play on the server often cuz i haven't seen there name before) and right after the knife fight gets over I get banned. No one mentioned anything about the "incident" after Otigre's first comment but perhaps it was being discussed..I'm not sure really. Like I said I know that is considered a racial comment but I am most definitely not a racist and have no problem apologizing to whoever I offended by saying it. I understand you guys have a very strict policy on any type of racism or racial comments , but I really enjoy playing with all of you guys and would be bummed out if one comment I made gets my PermaBanned from your server; Especially since its literally the only server I play on now and like I said earlier, I'm not a racist - if I ever seem loose about racial comments or have made them in the past its probably because most of my friends growing up haven't been Caucasian and other ethnicitys aren't usually as cautious about that stuff as white people. Thats not an excuse for breaking your rules , just some information to help you better understand my posistion.

If you dont want me back on the server thats ok, obviously its your server and your oppinions, but I would love it if I was allowed to play with you guys again.

I went onto the server using my friends account *Sorry ~ probably not suppose to do that* to figure out why I was banned (before I discovered this thread). I couldn't get a response for a while and finally was told "because we did" and "Your a racist". Hence me coming on here looking for a way to resolve the situation.

Anyways , I forgot to put that in the original post and figured I shouldn't leave any details out.

We have had a rash of racist remarks on the server lately - yours was just another we added to the list.

I know you guys have a fairly high volume server and you have been around for a good amount of time, so you already have a formula that works for you when it comes to these things. However, I really would appreciate it if my ban could be reconsidered. Like I mentioned I dont have as much of a charge on some words that most people find offensive but I know I should still be respectful of others that might have a different interpretation or point-of-view. Again this was an isolated incident and I apologize for making the comment and creating issues.

I would like to help you out, but in this case you were banned by one of the clan leaders.

I can't reverse his decision and using racist remarks is a permanent ban.

Alright ~ well thanks for looking into it at least. If anything changes, or if theres a way I'll be able to play with you guys again let me know. I'll check back on the forums occasionally to see how things are goin so I'll most likely see the post.

Maybe this will help my case:

racism - is a manifestation of stereotypical attitudes towards members of a certain race or ethnic group. Inappropriate treatment based on race constitutes racism. Racism is a form of discrimination.
         - discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race
I did not treat anyone inappropriately based on their race or do/say anything abusive towards them or anyone else of another race.

Negro; Relating to the black ethnicity; Black or dark brown in colour
Negro is a term referring to people of Black ancestry...the appellation was accepted as a normal completely neutral formal term both by those of Black African descent as well as those of non-African black descent. **Obviously people have abused the word and some use it in a condescending way** but that is not what i did.


It might be  mute point but perhaps this will persuade the clan leader that banned me to remove my ban from your server.

Though I was not party to this situation I think I can elaborate on our rule:

Any form or derivative of a racial slur or slang used in game, in our servers, and on our forums is a permanent ban offence, even if not directed at a person. The fact that you didn't intend it that way doesn't matter. Additionally, the argument that, "if African American people find it acceptable to use, then I should be able to use it" does not apply in our house. This rule applies to all pubbers and members alike.

Superiors, correct me if I have misrepresented the rule.

That wasn't my argument if you read more carefully. I was just showing some 'technicalities' since from what i understand of what Captain Joe was saying, the reason he couldn't help me with my ban was because of a technicality. Thanks for you input though man - always good to get all different viewpoints, regardless of their validity.

Just wanted to add a lil input myself:

It's not so much HOW you use it, its simply saying the word. Your word was deemed racist, and even though you didn't use it in a condenscending way, it is still a perma ban offense. There have been many other bans in the same manner, people logging on and saying 'What's up my *n-word*s'. It's not so much whether or not you are a racist, or how you say it, it's the fact that you said the word.

Soylent's point seemed 100% valid to me for he basically said the same things I did and your arguement seems to be that you didn't use the word in a condenscending way and that IRL you are not a racist, but like we both said, that doesn't matter. If that's not the issue, you might wanta restate your arguement.
