So I'm undertaking a (final?) effort to reboot/restart/resuscitate the DOD:S server and see if we can't generate some new blood.  Its all fine and good if we have 6-8 members that play, but I'd like to see if we can't generate some new pubbers (who aren't CSS crazies  )

I think one important thing is to try and get some new(er) maps.  I was looking through the most recent DODS Maps here, and some of them look pretty cool (ilCannibal's Bog map, and Surf's and Creamy's maps).  I was thinking it might be good to try those out.

What i'm looking for is for those that play DODS on other servers:  what are the popular maps now?  Orange-maps all the time?  And once Rider learns me in the art of Server Ninjitsu, what are some mods that get servers populated?   I myself am going to do some grassroots research, but I'd like to see what other people have observed in popular servers.

yeh i think we need a rank mod ppl want rankings.   i always liked the domination, ultrakill things........   but yeh some different maps indeed.  maybe i can snag a ilcannibal map pak from him.

Actually thats a great idea with the rankings.  We used to have that, I'll look into it.

haha, no luck there.  I'm putting together a list of maps that we currently dont have on the server that may foster new interest.  So far I've got:

Tunisa
Mario_air
Bayeux
dod_lime_arena
orange_fight_arena
and the new BDS maps here (Compund, Factory, ilCannibal's TheBog)

So those of you that WANT DODS to come back, lemme know what you think about new(er) maps.  The rest of you can form an orderly line and suck it.  

**also, I was thinking of getting some older BDS maps back in service that have been shelved.  And bringing back custom sounds too would be fun.  Thoughts?

I know these have been hit or miss with a lot of us, but it seems to be a draw for pubbers.  We'll definitely experiment with and without them.

I'm a big arena fan, and "fun map" fan (like the ones with traps and teleports ect.)

definately need a quake sound mod.   Also, there are cool mods where you get a bonus after a streak for x number of seconds.

I also like the "extra class" mods.  there are a couple classes but I like the medic one.

in this mod you can add "medics" to be a medic you type changeclass medic.  When you are a medic you run 2X as fast as other players, get a pistol, carbine with 6X clips, a bunch of smoke nades, and you can heal other people.

....it's pretty awesome.(as long as you limit to like 2 medics per team)
