This guy is trying to propose a proposition in California that bans divorce...you know...to save the "sanctity of marriage."  It really is a smart maneuver. its a shame that most people are too stupid to understand that it is satire. Boy would it be funny if it passed thought. lol.

people are already miserable...50% of marriages end in divorce. I think you missed the point of the article...he is doing it to be funny and to point out that it is just as illogical to deny people marriage (gay marriage) as it is to deny people divorce.

I've heard a German people married but are living separate for ten years now... both husband and wife living with other partners. :O

It's probably more for tax purposes than anything else, getting a divorce in Germany is pretty easy. I knew way too many guys that got married to German chixx and were divorced shortly afterward.

That German couple was part of a religious (Christian-ish?) group that did not allow divorce. So they are in a relationship where "marriage" was sold separately

But yea.. marriage with no out is something I cannot imagine passing on the ballot.
