Ok so im "demoing" the game and i made the mage character. He rocks like no other.  But i have a question about some of the stats for my skill trees.  What does the Magic Attribute do? I cant seem to tell what it does.

Ok so not the magic attribute. Its my skill called "offensive skill mastery" which gives attack spell levels. What do they do?

when you learn "Offensive Spells" like Fireball

It comes as "Rank 1". Leveling the Offensive Spells Skill gives higher ranks to the offensive spells that you've learned. The rank of the spell is displayed in the upper righthand corner of the info popup box when mouse is hovered over the spell.

The other way to learn better spells is to get the spells with higher level requirements.

So Fireball VI (Fireball 6) starts out with better damage qualities than what Fireball I (Fireball 1) possesses. However, Fireball 6 requires the character to be level 30 before it can be learned.

no

I believe it's not an "offensive spell", it should be a class spell since you learn it through your skill tree.

You can tell what category the spell falls under by looking right underneath the title of the skill/spell.

well start with somewhere to put your skill points in. I estimate that I was about low level 30s when I met Ordrak.

So if you are unhappy with how much damage the fireball is doing.. put some points to offensive skills

Healing.. defensive skills.

Pet and minions... points to pet mastery.

To me, there's a way to level any skill but Torchlight forces the player to make a choice early otherwise they will be unable to contend with Ordrak since he's got a shitload of health and summons tons of dragons plus.. he can sacrifice his dragons for health...

Oh.. Disanto.. you might as well buy it... it's only $5

Ordrak was easy for me. And im actually starting to see the benefit of the offensive skill ability.  Because im a mage i use a lot of extra skills from the spell scrolls, like my personal favorite "elemental overload" i didnt realize it but with the extra points it now gives me 75% bonus damage to my spells. So when i do my Highest level spell it crits for 8k and does normally around 2k-4k.  Plus i like my extra zombies Cheesy.  And yes im thinking about buying it since it is only 5$.
