Flea collars, they make a spray for the carpet and rugs.

Also Frontline flea control also works. We just got a batch from the vet for our dogs. It was $35.00

It includes 3 applications, each one is good for a month.

We have stupid squirrels in the backyard that spread them like wild fire..

theres a flea collar on my cat, i bathe her with flea shampoo, ive used adams shoulder drops, ive sprayed both insect growth inhibitor and flea and tick killer on my carpets, i vacuum atleast twice a day, ive washed all my beddings, replaced all of the cats bedding and toys, and use fur spray on her. ive even crawled around on my hands and knees manually picking the fleas off the carpet one by one. my cat stays indoors other then going out on the patio (which is three stories up).

i dont know what im doing wrong, it seems like the more poison i spray on the carpets the stronger the fleas get.

i feel like bombs are my last chance other than a professional exterminator. im reluctant to use bombs though, i remember getting really sick as a kid after my parents bombed our house.

a while ago my dad moved into an apartment that had the worst flea problem from the previous renter.  we did alot of the same shit and what i rembered worked was some powder you put on the carpet and the final solution was a flea bomb.  never got bit after that again.

i know it seems harmful but i think they "imporved" the bombs to be less harmful.

Don't let the cat out, and take it to the vet to get the prescription flea drops like Surf said. The OTC ones don't do shit and neither do flea collars really. Since the fleas are all up in your carpet and shit you're gonna have to drop bombs on their moms to get rid of all the eggs.

A simple flea trap is easy to make.

You'll need a light source (desk lamp, something like that) illuminating a dish of soapy water overnight.

Fleas are attracted to light.  They also have a waxy coating on their bodies that normally keep them buoyant in water.  The soap breaks that down so they drown.

This should help keep the flea population down, but I wouldn't rely on it alone.

My girlfriend's mom has been fighting a battle with fleas for a while now, but is too stubborn to use anything chemical.  She doesn't listen to us either, but that's another problem entirely.
