Late reply, but...good luck. Although I've never had anything on this scale done, I can understand and agree with the 'just get it over with' sentiment. When I got my wisdom teeth out, I had all 4 done at once, with just local anesthesia so I wouldn't have that anesthesia hangover and could go right back to work the next day.
My dad would probably agree as well - he had to have surgery on both shoulders, but kept putting off the second, much less severe one for about 7 years. He ended up practically destroying it by continuing to use it and just working through the pain. What would have been, like the first surgery, a relatively minor operation with a couple weeks' recovery time instead had to be a pretty big operation with 8 months recovery, during half of which his arm was uselessly kept in a sling, and lots of expensive and time consuming physical therapy.
So yeah...get that shit taken care of, and get back on your feet.
