So what's everyone playing nowadays?
«

Hey folks! What has everyone been playing recently? Lately, I've been playing a ton of Minecraft. So addicting. And I haven't even tried multiplayer yet.
Quake Live brings back fond memories of Q3A. Still, on my bandwidth, it's hard to play something so twitch.
Nestalgia is great, but very laggy. Anyone else try it yet?
Finally got around to installing and beating COD4 for PC. Does anyone even still play that? I bought it back when everyone in the clan was playing it, but my rig couldn't run it back then. Is black ops worth the 60$ price tag now that I have a rig that can conceivably run it?
Downloading the Dragon Age 2 demo now. Heard good things about the first but never played it.

black ops is fun but not worth the money imo. BF:BC2 vietnam is really fun right now.

Yeah, just played through the DA2 demo, and thought it was ok, but not enough to entice me away from 60 bucks.
20 bucks for BF:BC2, plus 15 for Vietnam is cheaper than 60 for Black Ops, so that's a plus... I might have to check that out.

Played some Alien Swarm last night which is fun with other people. Best part is that it is free.

Downloaded Alien Swarm last night, and just played through a couple pick-up missions. Really fun, actually, more so than I had expected. I might play some more of that soon.
I've been playing a lot of TF2 with my new rig, and after a long hiatus from that game, I didn't know what to make of the whole microtransaction stuff. I mean, a lot of cool stuff seems to be dropping for me, like I got the Gunslinger (which is pretty cool, but kinda weak without the other set pieces) and the Huntsman (not that I do a whole lot of sniping), but I dunno, it seems kind of weird.
I might just pick up BFBC2 and check it out. The single-player experience sounds pretty lackluster though.

Didn't even play the Singleplayer....BF games are all about MP. Never played any of the CoD SPs...
To me, BC2 is a great clan-based game...

COD 4 had a pretty cool SP campaign, albeit pretty short. The nuke scene in particular was note worthy, and the ending was pretty intense, I thought. Still, I don't have great latency, 3g isn't much better than dial-up, so I've been playing a lot of stuff where bad ping isn't such a big deal (like playing heavy, medic, and engie in TF2, my ping is never below 110)
I should download the entire Half-Life series and burn though them or something. Good times.

Awwww....
I just fired up steam, and theres an Ubisoft weekend sale going on. Assassin's Creed, Call of Juarez 2, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 and Farcry 2. 13 bucks for the 4-pack. AC just be worth the price of admission right there... I just might have to get that in addition to BFBC2+Vietnam.
*sigh* So many games, so little time...

FarCry 2 is the best game in that pack and worth the price of buying the pack. AssCreed will bore you to tears (the next two installments are much better).

I'm actually thoroughly enjoying AC 1, so I guess that means I should really look forward to playing FC2 when I'm done with AC, and when AC2 and ACB get some Steam discounts, I'll try and pick those up too
. Granted, I'm only 4 assassinations and 13 hours in, but I'm liking the game. It made a good impression on me that my cheap-o USB PS2 controller adapter was recognized and properly config'd right from the start, so that was cool. Haven't even tried mouse/keys yet, but I'm sure with the speed of ACB Multiplayer that using a controller would probably put you at a disadvantage online. That, and I'm kind of digging the story lines.
I don't have a PS3 or 360, so finally having a rig that can run console ports is pretty nice. I might just end up skipping both of Sony and MS's offerings this console generation. Now I need to find one of my bluetooth adapters so I can get a wii remote working on my PC again...
