I think its going to be a good thing.. expands the coverage that tmo has... and on the other hand it would be a bad thing cause two businesses combining into one will mean cuts in jobs...

I heard about this, I have Tmobile now and I think Ima cancel it now. Probably the only thing we'll see out of it is more caps and higher prices.  Thumbs Down

This never bodes well for the consumer.  Too bad for T-Mobile people, their prices are almost guarenteed to go up.  AT&T customers already pay a pretty high price-to-service premium, so they may break even.  (when you factor in customer service and quality of network)

How ironic is this considering T-Mobile's recent ad campaigns?  Hopefully they keep Carly Foulkes as the spokesmodel... wanna

Less choice for the consumer is rarely a good thing.  AT&T swallowing up competitors is, also, rarely a good thing (unless you're making money off AT&T stock, I guess...).

I have an Evo 4g with Sprint, and I like my phone - I just wish there was more 4g coverage up here, but there is *some* - about a 10 minute drive away from my PC, though...

I imagine that this is to bolster their 4g (WiMax) coverage of their own.  AT&T didn't have much of a 4g network, but that didn't stop them from pretending that their 3g network was 4g.

When I was comparing plans, T-Mo's were the cheapest (aside from MetroPCS, but their phones and network are decidedly 2nd tier), but their coverage up here in rural Nor Cal is spotty at best, and this was before the Nexus S came out, so the best android phone they had was the Nexus 1.

RIP T-Mobile.  The market will miss you, I'm sure.

My bro and I are with tmobile after learning this i told him to switch over to verizon cause i had att before and it sucks and expensive. Tmobile is ok but i use my iphone with it so i dont get the 3g speeds..

My dad has verizon and never ever has any problems with it.. Only thing is ima have to buy the iphone 4 im not much of a android fan.. but if the iphone 5 comes out for verizon ima be pissed!

from what I can see, verizon is more expensive than att.  The only problem Ive ever had (save for the occasion loss of service in a specific area)  is the fact that I bought a phone with some kindof fucked up firmware and Ive used it the last 2 years.  My contract with att expires in 2 weeks so Im debating on what to do more or less based on who has the best phone and best coverage

The really bad thing is that they'll jack up rates on current T-mobile customers, who now will enjoy the crappy AT&T network.  There's a reason I left AT&T.

A little birdy told me that this is not going to go through... AT&T will be wasting soo much money to update TMO towers and other policies would have to change...

I'm also thinking that either the US Government might step in and nix the deal - letting one company get too big is not in the best interests of the government or the majority of it's people.
