I work for the City of Roseville, here in CA. I started out working as an apprentice lineman for the Electric department. Roseville has their own electric company within the city. Worked there for about a year. If you know about line work you know its tough and dangerous. I was a Marine so I'm kinda burned out on all that. I have been working for the Waste Water Collections department for about 5 months now. Yessir, Imma Sewer Man!! It's not as bad as you would think though. 75% of the sewer lines in the city of Roseville are only 6 inches in diameter. I do get the random sewer shower and the broken main with sewage 3 feet deep around where I have to work!
That's mine, what about the rest of you?

Im a Graphic Designer for an advertising company. TKO Sports Advertising & Production. I create advertisments for businesses that go on the back of T-shirts for High Schools. Then I create the front of the shirt for the high school in their colors and with their mascot or whatever they want on it. These shirts are free to the schools so they may sell them for funds for their athletics departments. We sell so many ads at one time that I actually have a Full time job! That is rare in the graphic design world if you think about it. Perks, I get to work from home or my girlfriends house or wherever I want to. Downside. I get burned out and stressed out after about 4 hours of Clickity Clickity Clickity. Its all Vector artwork. So A customer has specifications for a car or house or something I don't already have a slew of on file, I have to spend hours making one, In Vector! Oh and I am the only graphic Designer for this company. Before The office moved to texas and I actually had to drive to my job I was the Production Manager. In Mid to Late May we are opening another office here in Oregon. On hwy 99E in Milwuakie/Gladstone. And I will still be the only Graphic Designer for Both Offices. At least I will be in charge of this one in Milwuakie though. I get to do all the Hire/Fire and ad proofs. Damn Life is only going to get harder. But nobody else I know can do my job.  Its one thing to be a great artist (and Im not) and another to be a great advertiser (and I am)

Excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. Naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Nope SMUD covers sac county and the dry creek area of placer county I think.  PG&E does the gas here though. I feel like I worked at SMUD. Pretty much all of my linemen were from SMUD.

I work in a restaurant.  My manager's dad worked for PG&E, though, and had a serious accident that nearly killed him a few years ago.

He was doing line work up high, and I don't know the specifics how, but he lost his footing.  He slipped, but remained caught up in something as he was being severely electrocuted.  He suffered 3rd degree burns on over half his body.  He still has the scars from the rivets on his jeans.

Electricity is crazy. When they tell you, "Yeah we pretty much understand it now go mess with it" you kind of are already scared. That's why it's electrical theory. Sometimes that shit just does whatever the hell it wants.

I work at a computer repair/hardware store, which essentially means that I browse the internets and forum troll all day while letting operating systems install and antivirus/antispyware programs run.

I work for a Large company in one of their R&D departments creating the next Video Conferencing stuff.   Angry, I was up in Gladstone today checking out my old neighborhood. My street was the same but every thing else has changed a lot since I was through there last.

I am an Administrator for 2 private medical groups....QTC Medical Group in Sacramento & Amberstone Medical Group in Stockton.  They are both a part of QTC Management which is the nations largest provider of physical exams.  They have been around for 26 years, and are all over the country with 4 clinics in Northern California (of which I have 2).  We contract with DOT, SSI, Railroad, DMV, VA, and I just submitted a bid to the DOC for their pre-employment physicals.
In my two clinics, we provide Psychiatric, Psycological, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic, Neurological, and Cardiac appointments.  We are currently looking to add Pediatrics to our line up.

I also build furniture on the side, 7 days a week.  I build mostly loft beds right now.  I stay pretty busy thanks to living 45 min away from Oakland, San Fran, and Sacramento.

I'm an "Engineering Specialist" for a small (40k pop) city in Washington State.  I used to work for the water dept (8 yrs) and finally got moved to Engineering two years ago and I love it.  I am also kind of a sewer guy, as I am building a sewer model for my city right now.  I also make some money on the side working on people's computers, and through guru.com programming.  I'm working on my first bachelors (Civil Engineering).  I dropped out years ago and am now finally going back to finish it up, now that I have a boss that will work with me on the schedule.  I love my job!   Cheesy
